World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2019

Yesterday was the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, which falls on the third Sunday in November each year. To mark the occasion, an activity was held in front of United Nations, Bangkok to remember the many millions killed or injured in road crashes. In attendance were Senator Surachai Liengboonlertchai, the chair of ASEAN/WHO Leadership Council for SEA Road Safety Network , Nikorn Chamnong, the chairperson of the subcommittee to study road safety and transport, Belgian Ambassador to Thailand Philippe Kridelka, Dr. Liviu Vedrasco, WHO Technical Officer and other representatives of government, private sector and civil society.

In Thailand, more than 20,000 people die in road crashes each year.
